Three diameters: a 100 mm outer cell, a 75 mm inner aperture, and a tube range of 70 to 92 mm outside diameter. An anodised aluminium cell, three clamping screws with plastic caps, and a Baader AstroSolar film. That is an unusually complete mechanical description for this shelf.

Measuring before ordering

The figure that matters is the outside diameter of your tube at the point the filter will sit — which for most telescopes means the front, including a fixed dew shield. The outside diameter is not the aperture, and the two are never equal.

On the claims in the listing

The advertisement blocks 99.9 % of incoming sunlight, cites ISO 12312-2:2015, and states that the marketplace verified the safety. Each of those is reported here as published. This site does not make its own claim about the safety of observing the Sun, and it points to the instructions supplied with the product rather than paraphrasing them.

The standard, read at its own scope

ISO 12312-2 is titled as covering filters for direct observation of the Sun — that is, products for the unaided eye. Filters made to go in front of an instrument are a separate category, and they follow their own makers’ specifications and instructions.
