Waterproof, gas-filled against internal fogging, with a metal centre focus mechanism. Those three together describe a binocular meant to be taken outside on the kind of night that ends other pairs — which, in astronomy, is most of them between October and March.
Seven hundred and fifty-eight grams, and 170 × 135 × 63 mm. Both are real specifications and both point the same way: this is a substantial instrument, and a chair or a tripod adapter will extend how long it can be used.
Twist-up eyecups with dioptre compensation, and the maker specifies long-eye-relief eyepieces. For a spectacle wearer that combination is what decides whether the whole field is visible or only the middle of it.
UR coating is named and not explained. Full multi-coating, which is also claimed, is a label that does mean something: every air-to-glass surface carries several layers. The two claims are different in kind, and only one of them can be compared with another maker’s.
