Four reticles, two colors

The StarPointer Deluxe projects one of four reticle patterns, in red or green, at five brightness levels, onto a large non-magnifying window. Both eyes stay open; the reticle sits on the sky. The knob’s off position between R and G saves the battery.

Alignment that holds

Horizontal and vertical set screws, turned with the attached hex wrench, move the reticle about 1 MOA per click. Set screws hold alignment better than thumbwheels when the telescope is moved.

Bracket and rail

A dovetail bracket fits Vixen and Sky-Watcher finder shoes. Remove it and a Picatinny rail appears, which can carry it on a camera hot shoe for astrophotography.

A note on the listing

Part of the text describes zeroing on a rifle at 50 to 100 yards. The 1 MOA figure is what matters for a telescope.

Price and availability

On November 7, 2026, Amazon.com listed it at about $40 from a third-party seller.

What gets asked before buying

Why choose a reticle?

A dot is precise; a circle or crosshair is easier to see against bright sky or the Moon. Four patterns let the reticle suit the target.

What does 1 MOA per click mean?

Each click moves the aim by about one minute of arc, fine enough to align it precisely with the telescope.

Will it fit my telescope?

Its bracket fits Vixen and Sky-Watcher finder shoes, which most telescopes use. Remove the bracket and a Picatinny rail fits a camera hot-shoe adapter.
