Kosmos is a German publisher best known for science kits and nature guides. Thames & Kosmos, a separate US company, distributes its kits in North America and appears on this site with its own planetarium projector.
The Kosmos Fernrohr is a lens telescope in a metal tube that a child builds and adjusts. Its Amazon.com description is in German and gives one figure: 30x magnification. It names the Moon’s craters, birds and squirrels as targets. On November 7, 2026 it cost about $44 from a third-party seller.
