Astromania Plössl set 6/12.5/20 review
Three 1.25-inch Plössls of 6, 12.5 and 20 mm: four-element, 50-degree, multi-coated eyepieces with filter threads, fold-down eyecups for glasses and dust caps.
6, 12.5 and 20 mm, each a four-element Plössl with a 50-degree apparent field, multi-coated, with a 1.25-inch filter thread, fold-down rubber eyecup and dust caps. There is no Barlow, case or filter.
A useful spread
On a 900 mm telescope: 45x, 72x and 150x. Low power for star fields and the whole Moon, medium for clusters, high for Saturn and Jupiter. Only the 20 mm is a common supplied eyepiece, so the set adds more than it repeats.
Eye relief and glasses
Astromania states generous eye relief for glasses wearers and fold-down eyecups, but gives no figure. Plössl eye relief runs about 70% of focal length: about 14 mm on the 20 mm, which works with most glasses, and about 4 mm on the 6 mm, which does not.

What observers ask about this one
Will glasses wearers see the whole field?
Astromania says the eye relief lets glasses wearers see the full field, and the eyecups fold down. With Plössls, eye relief is about 70% of the focal length, so roughly 14 mm on the 20 mm, 9 mm on the 12.5 mm and 4 mm on the 6 mm. The 20 mm will work with glasses; the 6 mm will be tight.
Which telescope suits this set?
Any 1.25-inch telescope. On a 900 mm refractor the set gives 45x, 72x and 150x, a sensible low, medium and planetary trio.
Why no Barlow?
This is the plain set. Astromania's [4/10/25 set with Barlow](/reviews/eyepiece-sets-astromania-plossl-barlow/) adds one.
