For 0.965-inch eyepieces

Almost every filter sold today is 1.25 inch. This one fits the older 0.965-inch (24.5 mm) eyepieces of department-store telescopes and some children’s kits, such as CelticBird’s 0.965 in eyepiece kit.

Two descriptions

The bullets say it reduces glare and shows the Moon’s craters and seas more clearly. They also call it a nebula filter that darkens light-polluted skies. The package list says four 0.965 in nebula filters. A Moon filter and a nebula filter do different jobs.

What is published

An aluminum alloy rim, a glass lens, 0.965-inch thread and 6 g. No transmission figure.

What gets asked before buying

Will it fit my telescope?

Only 0.965-inch (24.5 mm) eyepieces. Most modern telescopes use 1.25 inch; see [eyepiece barrel diameters](/standards/eyepiece-barrel-diameters/).

Is it a Moon filter or a nebula filter?

The listing says both: it reduces glare on the Moon, and darkens light-polluted skies for nebulae. Those are different filters, and no transmission is given to settle it.

How many filters come in the box?

The package list says four 0.965 in nebula filters; the title and bullets describe one Moon filter. Check with the seller.
