A drawer, not a wheel

The filters sit in slides that push into the body. One filter is in the beam at a time, and swapping means pulling one slide and pushing in another. That is slower than turning a wheel and far shorter in the light path — which is the whole reason drawers exist.

The threads, and the adapter question

M54 × 0.75 at both ends. That is a larger thread than the T-2 and M48 most cameras and reducers carry, so an adapter at one or both ends is likely. Several suitable ones sit on this same shelf.

The two thickness figures

Four millimetres appears next to the interface description; sixteen millimetres is given as the extended length. The listing does not say which figure is the optical path consumed. Both are reproduced above.

Three slide sizes

Two inch, 1.25 in and 36 mm versions exist. This listing is the 2 in insert. A body that accepts several slide sizes is a genuine advantage in a collection that has both filter sizes.
