The lowest minimum on the shelf

Twenty-five millimetres. Every other adapter here starts at 28 mm, and slim binocular and monocular oculars frequently fall below that. For anyone whose instrument has a narrow eyepiece body, that figure is the reason to choose this one.

Two materials, two jobs

An aluminium body for stiffness and a PA plastic clamp for grip. A phone needs to be held firmly and not cracked; an eyepiece needs an adapter that does not flex when the focus is touched. Splitting the materials addresses both.

The ranges, stated at both ends

Eyepieces 25 to 48 mm; phones 54 to 100 mm. Wide at the bottom, ordinary at the top. A fat wide-field eyepiece body may exceed 48 mm, and the Celestron adapter here reaches 60.

The blanks in the listing

Weight and dimensions. Neither is decisive for an adapter, and both would help when deciding whether it goes in the same bag as everything else.

Availability

German, French and Spanish Amazon stores ran from 11 € to 14 € on the day of the survey.

British Amazon store lists it in local currency, which the euro range above sets aside.

Italian Amazon store stood above 1.6× the cheapest country. A gap that size normally means stock forwarded from abroad rather than a seller on the ground, so that figure is left out of the range above.

American Amazon store gave no result whatever, so the buy button there opens a search rather than an empty page.
