The depth is the specification

Twelve centimetres inside. A large 2 in eyepiece stands upright in that, which is what decides how much a case actually holds — standing, an eyepiece occupies a square of foam; lying down, a long rectangle.

Cube foam

One centimetre squares, pulled out by hand to shape a recess for each item. The advantage over a moulded insert is that the collection will change, and a case that can be re-plucked lasts through several changes of eyepiece.

Aluminium

A hard shell rather than a padded bag. Eyepieces are glass in metal tubes and they survive being knocked far better than they survive being dropped; a rigid case addresses the second.
