Not an astronomy product, and useful anyway

A universal protective case in polypropylene and glass fibre, sold for tools and technical equipment. It is on this shelf because it does the job: filters, small eyepieces, adapters and a planetary camera all fit, and nothing gets wet.

The dimensions, both sets

Thirty-two by 22.9 by 11.2 centimetres outside; thirty by nineteen by nine inside. Publishing both is unusual and genuinely useful — the difference is the wall thickness, and it is what decides whether something fits.

The rating

IP67: dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion. That is a defined standard rather than an adjective, and it is more protection than any fabric bag on this shelf offers.

The depth limit

Nine centimetres inside. A large 2 in eyepiece will not stand up in that. For 1.25 in eyepieces, filters, adapters and a small camera it is ample, and that is the collection it suits.

Availability

German, French, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores ran from 33 € to 42 € on the day of the survey.

British Amazon store lists it in local currency, which the euro range above sets aside.
