The method, in the listing

Observe the collimator from the mirror end of the tube and turn the primary screws until the red dot is centred. That is the laser collimation procedure in one sentence, and a listing that includes it is more use than one that only describes the housing.

The battery decision

Built in, and described as power-saving. That removes the coin cell from the packing list and eventually removes the tool from service — a rechargeable that no longer holds charge cannot be fixed with a two-euro battery.

The optics

A triple-cemented lens, as on the SVBONY collimator beside it. The purpose is a sharper projected spot, which is easier to judge against a centre mark.

The check that still applies

Rotate it in the focuser and watch the dot. A laser that is not square to its barrel will align a telescope wrong however sharp its spot is, and nothing in this listing says whether the beam can be adjusted.

Availability

German, French, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores ran from 26 € to 30 € on the day of the survey.

British Amazon store lists it in local currency, which the euro range above sets aside.
