The sizing argument

The maker states it plainly: their cover is cut 3 to 5 cm larger than most on the market, because a cover that is too small tears. That is a correct diagnosis of how these fail — stretched fabric catches the wind and splits at the seams.

Two ways of holding on

Buckled straps underneath and an adjustable drawcord at the centre of the base. Wind getting under a cover is what lifts it off, and closing the bottom is the whole defence.

The fabric

Four hundred and twenty denier Oxford with a polyurethane coating. Weatherproof, UV-resistant and tear-resistant, per the maker. UV resistance matters more than it sounds: a cover left out all summer degrades in sunlight long before it wears out in rain.

The blanks in the listing

Its dimensions. For a cover, the height and width of the assembly it has to go over are the specification, and this listing does not give its own.
