Made for two named mounts

The EXOS-1 and the EXOS-2, with a shaft diameter of 20 mm published alongside. That removes the guesswork that makes counterweights an awkward purchase.

Two kilograms is a fine adjustment

An EXOS-2 comes with a 4.5 kg weight. Adding two is not about doubling the capacity — it is about having a second mass to slide along the shaft so that balance can be found precisely rather than approximately.

The number that never appears

The overall diameter of the weight. On a short shaft with a low-slung tripod, a wide weight can foul the legs when the mount swings through the meridian, and the diameter is what would predict it.

Colour matching

Purely cosmetic, and it does indicate an accessory made for the mount rather than a generic weight with a hole in it.

German, French, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores ran from 30 € to 32 € on the day of the survey.
