Projection, not prime focus

An eyepiece goes inside this adapter and the camera looks through it. That enlarges the image well beyond what the telescope produces on its own, which is what makes it useful on the Moon and the planets and impractical on anything faint.

The figure that decides compatibility

Thirty-five millimetres of maximum eyepiece body diameter. Plössls and simple eyepieces fit comfortably; a wide-field eyepiece with a fat barrel does not. Publishing it saves a return.

The chain, in order

Telescope, this adapter with an eyepiece inside it, a T2 ring matched to your camera’s bayonet, the camera. Bresser states the T2 ring is a separate purchase, which is the right emphasis — it is the part most often missing on the first attempt.

The weight
