The thread, named properly

M42 × 0.75. That is what T2 means, and printing both the trade name and the thread specification is what separates a clear listing from an ambiguous one — especially given the M42 × 1.0 lens mount that shares the diameter and nothing else.

The exclusion is the useful sentence

Canon EOS R and EOS M are named as incompatible. Those are mirrorless systems with a different flange distance from EF, and the shared brand name is precisely why the wrong ring gets ordered.

Where it sits in the chain

At the camera end. The telescope end needs a nosepiece, a projection adapter or a reducer that terminates in a T2 thread; this ring converts that thread to the bayonet.

The flange distance arithmetic

T2 places the sensor 55 mm behind the thread face. A T-ring’s thickness makes up the gap between that figure and where the camera’s bayonet places its own sensor. It is not published here, and it is why T-rings are camera-specific rather than universal.

Availability
